Shoe companies have a unique opportunity especially when there are only a couple of major brands that dominate the market. For example, when looking at the brand Converse it's been around for over 100 years. This brand has been around for a century and still has a very relevant part in the shoe market as we know it. On their website, the About page states that their shoes are “ made for the street, our products are designed for the ever-changing world of street culture. One of their main selling points is that they're in it for the long haul because Of their proven track record for consistently being able to stay in the limelight for casual streetwear shoes. When companies attempt to be in it for the long haul they are also fighting to stay relevant at the same time. When you take a look at the ad that I posted above it shows Converse taking that step to stay relevant by collaborating with a very well-known Grammy award-winning artist who just recently dropped an album. With the publicity from the album and the creativity of the ad, It is clear that they are attempting to secure their place as a shoe brand for the next generation of consumers. I also think that this ad and the company tap into emotions seeing artists and creatives in that space is an inspiration for anyone watching especially if you know where they came from. When looking at the design for Converse they definitely and easily have a very consistent design that allows for collaborations with slight variations to the design. I think Converse overall is a great brand especially for how they are handling their media and advertising they are trying to cement their place for another hundred years and I think they can maybe 50.
